Hey guys! So I’m back in school now which means more stress on my neck and fewer posts. I’m going to try to have a new post on the blog every 4-5 days. Please bear with me! And totally by the way, I got a new laptop which I love so much rn, My old laptop was definitely hanging off a cliff! So 2016 was a great year with a lot of old trends resurfacing and new ones coming into place. There were some trends I immediately fell in love with with and some, eh not so much. So this post is about four trends that will most likely make their way into 2017 or rather that I want to make their way to 2017 so I can rock the hell out of it!
1. Pleats – These have been around since as far as I can remember. Even when I was a little girl, I was always dressed up in pleats and stuff, but in 2017, pleats were a majorly highlighted trend. I especially love the metallic pleated skirts and culottes, they made me fall in love with pleats all over again!

2. The Slip – For me living in Nigeria has put some constraints on how I dress, especially because of the weather. Layering with a cami top or dress is something I have longed to do for a while now but haven’t got the chance too, soon though. The velvet and charmeuse silk camis caught my eye and that was when I started looking out for this trend and then fell in love with it!

This look above incorporates about 3 of the trends I mentioned, exaggerated sleeves(not overly exaggerated but I love the effect the black ties make), the slip dress and mules!

3. Sleeves – By sleeves, I mean overly exaggerated sleeves. Bell sleeves, Ruffles, Sleeve appliques became very popular in the last year. I have actually always been attracted to bell sleeves, then the ruffles took my heart then the appliques. Sadly I have only tried this trend with overly flared (not exactly bell sleeves) and I can’t wait to try it in 2017.

This picture was from my last post here, and the sleeves here are exaggerated enough right?
4.Mules – The plain way to state this is, “I love comfort”. I’m not really a heel type of girl maybe because I haven’t found the perfect one yet. I wear them a lot but they always make my feet hurt! So when I discovered mules, a stylish and sorta unconventional way to wear your slippers or slides, I immediately jumped on it. Though I’m still very picky on the type of mules I like as some are definitely not my style!
I’d absolutely wear these but I‘m pretty sure their out of my budget lol, Via NORDSTROM
I’d wear all these below probably with the exception of the burgundy. I’m not a overly high chunky heel sort of person! Via Mansur Gavriel
Who else is with me on any of these trends and which other trends do you want to make it into 2017? Do let me know in the comments.
